For the next two weeks, we are going to have a special collection plate at the back of the church to raise money to send to  WIRES, an animal rescue charity in New South Wales. We've all seen the heartbreaking images of desperate animals fleeing the wildfires, and our TVs have also shown the wonderful work done by hundreds of volunteers. Extinction of some species is, sadly, a distinct possibility. We can't do anything on the ground, but we can send some funds to help those who are in a position to do something positive for these poor creatures.
