Hymn Chat

It was gratifying to have so many people interested in helping to choose hymns. It's not a case of "oh, I like that hymn! Let's sing it!", but rather what ties in with the readings. For example, the theme running through the readings for January 26th, third after epiphany, are about being called to discipleship and forming a worship community. So what to select? 'Will you come and follow me?' was an obvious choice, and we also went with 'Bind us together'. We try mainly to echo the message in the gospel, though sometimes the actual words of a hymn are lifted straight from the psalm. Intrigued? Come and join in the first Sunday of the month after lunch.
