Lorna

This week we have lost one of the great ladies of our parish. Lorna Bakker passed peacefully very early last Sunday morning. For so many years, Lorna took on all of the positions of the church--at the same time! We might well not have our little church today if it were not for all the hours she put in. For many years every time I drove past the church I would see her car in the parking lot and she was busy--in the garden, cleaning the brass, sweeping the floors, wiping the grime from the woodwork. 

A celebration of Lorna's life will be held in St. Oswald's Church on Saturday, November 30th at 11 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Lorna's daughters ask that a donation be made to Katie's Place, a no kill shelter for cats in Maple Ridge. It was dear to Lorna's heart.
